Basic Hosting Setup

The simplest way to host your Ghost Publication is by directly linking your domain to HauntedHost. To complete these steps, you will need access to update DNS settings on your selected Domain Name. Both of the following details will need to be added as CNAME records.

Please refer to your Domain Registry for further details

SSL Configuration

To enable HTTPS connections to HauntedHost's service to correctly use your Domain Name, you will first need to verify your ownership of the domain by adding the SSL Verification.

To add the Verification DNS Record, you will need to create a CNAME record with the details from the "SSL Details" section of your Publication on the HauntedHost Admin page:

  • Name/Host: DNS Name from SSL details. E.g. _a14f194bbb6958691e037b0665147cec.mydomain.com
  • Value/Alias: DNS Value from SSL details. E.g. _db160a9654304199a561d698dfd2be88.sfialkndaoa.acm-validations.aws.
  • TTL: Leave this as the default

SSL Verification can take 15 minutes or longer, especially if you don't perform this step immediately after registering your HauntedHost account. Once updated, please allow some time for this verification to be completed.
